Prof. Xiaoling Xu's laboratory combines X-ray crystallography, Cryo-electron microscopy (Cryo-EM) as well as multiple biophysical, biochemical and cell biology approaches to study the molecular mechanisms of important biological systems, including the electron transport and energy metabolism systems of photosynthetic bacteria and mammalian cells, and their applications in development of the therapeutics and controllable biological reaction devices.
